Just when we thought Marine GPS navigation couldn’t get any easier, Lowrance introduced the GlobalMap® 6600C HD Chartplotter and GPS navigator, featuring tons of GPS navigation convenience and a 20GB hard drive, a brilliant 7” display, and tons of extras that make GPS navigation and chartplotting around the waterways of the globe an easy task. Indeed, the 6600C HD ships with an assortment of charts, including 2,100 bodies of water in the continental U.S., along with coastal areas for the U.S. as well as Alaska and Hawaii. Equipped with automatic WAAS 12-parallel channel reception (using the provided LGC-2000 external antenna), the 6600C has been outfitted by Lowrance to far surpass ordinary Marine GPS navigators – and it does this quite well. The brilliant 7” display serves up maps and charts of superior clarity and detail, while the 37 zoomable map ranges let you get as close or as far to map details as necessary. Take advantage of the 6600C’s 1,000 waypoints, 1,000 event markers, and 100 saveable plot trails (with up to 10,000 points each). Not only does the GlobalMap® 6600C feature a display that’s easy to read even the direct sunlight coming down in an open boat cockpit, this snazzy GPS device and chartplotter is fully waterproof, right down to the MMC/SD slot. How’s that for rugged! (Note: Lowrance has replaced the 6600C HD with the 7300C HD.)
