Designed for the most adventurous outdoor enthusiasts, the eTrex Summit® adds an altimeter and electronic compass to its highly accurate GPS navigation functions (within three meters.) The WAAS-enabled Summit® features a 12-paralell channel receiver and waterproof case (IPX7) that can withstand immersion in a meter of water for 30 minutes and keep on going. An electronic compass sets you in the right direction, while a barometric altimeter delivers precise altitude information at the greatest of heights. An incredible 22-hour battery life using two AA batteries (in GPS mode – 13 hours in GPS and compass mode) and 500 waypoints make the eTrex Summit a very powerful device. You can also store up to 10 track logs with a total of 10,000 points in all – not bad for a lightweight device that fits into the palm of your hand and weighs just over 5 ounces! Fisherman and other outdoor types will appreciate the built in sun and moon information and hunt and fish calendars as well.
