Desription .........  The Wherify Wherifone is a compact and powerful cell phone and GPS Locator that delivers 300 minutes of talk time and “within a minute” GPS location data for families needing to view the whereabouts of vulnerable loved ones such as seniors and children from their personal computer. The Wherifone is simple to use, making it an ideal first phone for kids, or an additional or main phone for seniors and other adults. The Wherify Wherifone utilizes the same GPS Satellite Technology as GPS Navigation systems found in cars, meaning users get accurate, up to the minute info. Great things come in small packages – a point gracefully proven by the Wherify Wherifone GPS locator.

Good for Dogs and People :) : Main use of that phone is in convenience for people to track pets and locate them with ease. G550 is small and slick device.

Update to my earlier review : This phone might start a new trend it was the mobile industry, it the first phone with GPS and hence ideal to locate my kids. I found it compact and easy to use. I was able to program it with 5 numbers and an emergency 911 button. This phone does not have a key pad but only five numbers which show the date, time, battery life, signal strength, and caller ID. It has got a nice speaker phone and triband GSM, it come with a GPS locator which can pin point the location of the person up to a few feet. A bonus is that it has internet access but to avail of this I found that an additional fee had to be paid.

The biggest negative is the perception; my kids want to be as far away from their parents as possible. It shows their independence it is only dependent kids who will use this phone. The other short fall is that it does not have something to attached it to my child’s clothes. Overall this is a nice phone and it gives harried parents peace of mind.

Too old for 2008 : It used to be nice device back 3-4 years but in 2008 it is just too outdated.
