Desription ......... Garmin Nuvi 1690 is available since 4th Quarter of 2009. Garmin calls it Smart Navigator due to several advanced features that makes this GPS device different from its predesessors. It is capable of utalizing Google Local Search and Garmin propriatory software called nuLink which provide you with the real time information about gas prices, stores and other usefull information. It has good battery life which runs at 3 hours.

There are several worth mentioning features that come with Nuvi 1690.

Garmin Nuvi 1690 USA Map Update : I just bought Garmin Nuvi 1690 and would like to update my USA map but software that I am able to find on line at garmin.com is very expensive. Is there any retail chains where I can purchase more resent US map but paying less for it?
