Desription .........  Garmin has been manufacturing portable GPS devices since 1989 and is considered an industry leader when it comes to innovation in technology and design. Its Nuvi GPS devices always manage to stay ahead of the competition by combining simplicity of use with bold innovation.

The Garmin Nuvi 880 leaves its competition behind by miles. It is not only a great portable GPS device but raises the bar with its great features. Building on its success with a larger, highly readable screen and touch screen capabilities, Garmin has managed to carve the crown jewel in the Garmin Nuvi 880 with enabling the system to be completely controlled by voice. The Garmin Nuvi 880 is capable of understanding basic and complex voice commands, and maintains its support for Bluetooth speaker phone, and supports a host of cell phone models with which you can pair and take calls without having to pick up the phone physically in your hand.

A helpful feature of the Garmin Nuvi 880 that has been retained for the one in search of adventure, and well, to get ahead of traffic bottlenecks, is integrated real-time traffic info. It not only advises you with alternate routes, but gives 3-D maps and turn by turn walk throughs of those routes, so you can forecast the trip before time and effectively plan.

The Garmin Nuvi 880 is an innovative GPS device that clearly supersedes its competition in the portable GPS market. It's the first shirt-pocket GPS which can be completely controlled by your voice. In addition, the integrated traffic receiver and Bluetooth speaker phone make it the best in its category and and is definitely its money's worth for who can afford it. Even being in the $580-$1000 range, the strong features and usability of the Garmin Nuvi 880 make it a must have for convenient and enjoyable road trips.

Garmin Nuvi 880 is sold device : I used to have older model of Garmin, I don't even remember its model number, but a month ago I decided to upgrade to newer model such as Nuvi 880. I was looking around and try to compare Garmin to other companies, but because I am so used to Garmin maps, and functionality I decided to purchase Garmin Nuvi 880 and I can tell you that I am not disappointed in my choice. It has detailed maps and easy to follow set up screen. I was up and running within 15 minutes. Start up time is better then prior models and screen resolution is something to talk about.

If you are Garmin fan, like muself, then you should consider this GSP navigator.

Voice activated GPS : Does anyone know if there is a GPS system that is voice activated?
I think it would be easier to find roads or maps if there is. Imagine, just ask your device: Current location: Fisherman's ward, Destination: Castro Street.
Life will be a bliss if my GPS can do that!

Portable GPS : Portable GPS is gaining more widespread use among car drivers. They take their portable gps devices with them while on the road and even when they are walking around. I was trying to find one portable GPS device that will be good at everything. For instance, I want one for driving, hiking, fishing and etc... Which portable GPS device would do it all for me?
